Historic Meets Modern

Canandaigua Guesthouse is situated in a circa 1810 brick Italianate style home. One of the original homes in the area, it was expanded in 1899 by noted architect J. Foster Warner who would soon go on to design the George Eastman House in Rochester (worth a visit!). A single-family home until now, Canandaigua Guesthouse is ready to embrace its next iteration in history as a modern day guesthouse, welcoming travelers ready for an uplifted interpretation of the classic B&B experience.

Your hosts.

Jason and Valerie are the husband and wife team behind Canandaigua Guesthouse. One of us is from here the other is from Spain. Together we combine our hospitality, marketing, and culinary backgrounds to create a unique offering in the lodging space, complete with furry friends Lola (the Boston) and Hope (the Beagle).

  • A native of Western NY, Valerie spent 25 years in Boston before returning to her home state to create Canandaigua Guesthouse. She’ll guide you to good wine, good food, and good paddle boarding, plus she’s a trained chocolatier so expect good chocolate, always. Valerie is on the board of the Finger Lakes Bed & Breakfast Association.

  • A native of Spain, Jason first visited the area in 1992 as a foreign exchange student. Since then he’s worked in 5-star hotels throughout the world and brings his eagle eye attention to the details at Canandaigua Guesthouse.

FAQs

  • Should I book direct with you?

We love it when guests book direct through our reservation system. It saves us the excessive fees charged by third party websites, allowing us to put that money back into the guest experience. Plus, you get our best rate when you book direct.

  • Is Canandaigua Guesthouse kid friendly?

Children 12 and over traveling with an adult are welcome at Canandaigua Guesthouse. We are limited by City regulations to two people per guest room so if you are a couple traveling with a child you will need to book two rooms.

  • Is the Guesthouse pet friendly?

Fido will have to sit this one out as we cannot accommodate pets. We hope that Hope and Lola, the guesthouse resident dogs can help fill the void with their puppy love. Speaking of dogs, if you are allergic to dogs or just don’t enjoy their company then we are probably not the best match for you.

  • What's for breakfast?

We serve a continental style breakfast from 8 - 10 am with homemade granola, yogurt, fresh fruit, locally made sourdough bread, spreads, and a rotation of baked goods. After breakfast hours we offer light snacks available throughout the day.

  • What's the parking situation?

Each room has one assigned parking spot. Please inquire before your stay if you need more than one parking spot. We will try to accommodate your needs, but no guarantees.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations received 14 days prior to your arrival date will be refunded in full. Cancellations received less than 14 days prior to your arrival date will be refunded only if we are able to rebook the room. Reservations made via OTAs/third parties must be cancelled through those services and wil be subject to the cancellation policy listed on the OTA/third party website.

  • What time can I arrive?

You can check in anytime after 3 PM and checkout is at 11 AM. We offer contactless check in at the Guesthouse for off hour arrivals. You will receive check in instructions the day before your arrival. We are always a text or phone call away if you need help. We can arrange for luggage storage before or after check-in if needed.

  • Do you offer self check in?
